Ian Mankin have a shop in London’s vibrant Chelsea Design Quarter. The fabric is made under the umbrella company, John Spencer in their vast mill in Burnley. John Spencer use traditional weaving methods along with some serious state of the art weaving machinery. Before lockdown the Princess Royal came to visit the factory. The owner David Collinge along with his loyal staff were delighted to welcome her.

Their longest-standing employee, Les, has worked for John Spencer for over 40 years. He is a warper using some of the most high-tech machinery in the business.

The fabric is checked by hand for any irregularities in the weave.
Products such as throws and cushions are hand-stitched on site.
